Marketing Lessons From A Couple Of Clowns?

Insane Clown Posse is an American hip hop duo from Detroit, Michigan.

Ever heard of them?

The group consists of two members – Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler, who perform under the guise of the “wicked clowns” Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope.

Now let me get this out of the way right off the bat – I’m not a fan of their music.

Like, not even a little.

In fact, I tried to listen to one of their songs, and only managed to get about 30 seconds into it (I listen to rap music and still couldn’t manage to force my ears to suffer through their song).

I couldn’t handle it.

But what Insane Clown Posse has done is remarkable.

The duo has earned two platinum and five gold albums with hardly any radio airplay.

They’ve sold over 8 million copies of their records. They regularly sell out concerts and have created a seven-figure merchandising division of their business.

They’ve spun off several separate entities, including a wrestling league and a yearly Woodstock-like event called “The Gathering of the Jugaloos”.

Recently, the tenth annual Gathering of the Juggalos had over 20,000 attendees and featured over 100 bands.

So how did Insane Clown Posse become so successful?

To put it simply – They built a culture.

Like Apple, or Harley Davidson, they’ve created a tribe of extremely loyal customers. These people will buy anything and everything related to the band, and will do it forever.

This is what you need to do with your business as well.

Follow the steps outlined here as a starting point.

Creating a culture around your business is the smartest thing you could EVER do.

Who knows…

You might even like their music :-)

I doubt it – But they’ve done a great job of branding themselves.

I’ll get a cut of the sale if you end up purchasing a product from Erik. I’ve personally gone through the entire Culture Crafting course and know that it will help anybody that experiences it.
