Hi Ross,

Thanks for the great message. I find that Internet Marketing hoopla is like the new form electronic crack since there is so much "hype" out there and it's easy to get sucked in by the marketing Hoover systems and techniques du jour -- because honestly sometimes we are looking for that magic bullet.

What I've found is that newbies and pros need to to be very pragmatic and not fall for every ebook and the latest and greatest system, technique or formula. And don't look for that instant gratification, you'll spend more time working on that than working on real results.

What many of us really need to do is resort to old fashion tire-kickin' and be very focused on what you want to achieve with the tools or systems that you are using.

Thanks for honesty in this world of hyperbole It's much needed. All the best,

Hi Ross,

Thanks for being so down-to-earth and "living in your customer's shoes." I feel like you totally get where I am coming from as a newbie to IM. If I was writing a book about how to be authentic in business and marketing, you would be on the front cover! Thanks for all that you do Ross :-)

Ross,
Thanks again for sharing a wee bit of wisdom - that goes a long way. I appreciate your insight into struggles that are pretty common and then addressing those with some solid solutions. You manage to teach without making us feel totally stupid and I'm glad for that!
Blessings!

Ross,
I thought I was the only one. Thank you for being so honest and telling me that you do this too! You are one of the few IM peeps that I trust and follow. I am now "cleaning and organizing" all my stuff. I swear I will not buy one more thing until I know exactly what I own.
I also pledge to implement at least two tasks today as well to move my business forward.
Keep the good stuff coming - you inspire me.

Ross,
Great stuff as always. It's so easy to get overwhelmed, especially if we, like Kevin above, start thinking we have to do it all.

If I've learned one thing in my years in business, usually the hard way, it's that we ALL need to delegate.

Do what you do well, let someone else do the rest. And, as you suggest, use what you buy and implement.

With that pearl of wisdom, I think I'll go back to re-reading Traffic Manifesto:-)

Stay well my friend,
Jim

Thanks for the info Ross! I had to pause your video half-way through to answer the postman at the door - Infomillionaire just arrived. LOL. We just started our reality show 2 months ago and haven't purchased that many products yet...trying to figure out how to create our own products.

I appreciate the info and look forward to the masters seminar in Feb.

It's amazing how the simple things can make a difference.

Gilles - knowing where you are is simple enough if you think about it the right way. What do you have and what do you need?

A bigger list? Set up more squeeze pages.

More traffic? Do more marketing.

More supplies? Sell more stuff ;-)

Don't over complicate things and you'll be amazed with the results you can get from simple changes.

I should definitely sort out the gazillion ebooks I have, as well as sort out the different categories of stuff (software, scripts, graphics, etc...).

The biggest challenge is to know exactly where you are, identify specifically what needs to be learned, see if it's not already on the hard drive. Implement it, check the progression. Re-assess and see what needs to be learned next.

Ross, as a newbie (about a year or so), I agree wholeheartedly. For me, it was a matter of organizing both the hard drive as delicious.com where I keep most of my bookmarks. The biggest problem is digesting all the information out there and making sense out of it. Who is right? Who is wrong? What system works, what doesn't? I think you have to experiment, especially for us in a niche market. It was many, many months before we "hit" on what works for us. But I had the advantage of being a salesman and looked at Web marketing as farming. Too many give up before they accomplish anything or don't take the time to learn and constantly update. One thing I find with the economic slump is the businesses who are slowing down are finally starting to listen to our suggestions in Web marketing. I am busier than ever!
