You should know this about me…

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I’ve actually had 2 brushes with death.  I nearly died in 2003, as
well as my coma in 2005.  I was leaving a bar with a few friends
and we got attacked by a group of 20 people.  A car pulled up and a
guy walked out with a gun.  He began walking toward my best friend.
I was absolutely annihilated (drunk out of my mind) and decided to
step in the way.  I asked him “We live in Wisconsin, what are you
going to do with that?”, his response was to pull the trigger.

The funny thing was that the gun was full of BBs, not bullets.  I
responded by punching this genius.  He responded by hitting me with
the butt of the gun.  The problem here is that the butt of a BB gun
has a 1/2 inch metal nub on it.  That nub knocked a portion of my
skull up against my brain.  I blacked out for a few seconds.  I do
not remember any thing that happened next, but am told that I
stomped on at least 5 of the 20 guys that attacked us.  I guess I
was angry ;-)

The hit from the pistol missed my temple by an inch.  $30,000 worth
of neurosurgery later, I was as good as new!

I mention this because it has a lot to do with what I want to tell
you next.

During my coma in 2005, I had a conversation with someone.  I don’t
know who the conversation was with.  It could have been The
Almighty, An Angel, or a Cruel Nurse.  I will never know the truth.
I do know that the conversation has changed my life dramatically.

The conversation consisted of a lot of questions from me, trying to
understand what was happening to me.  During my coma I hallucinated
the entire time (this is may be part of those hallucinations).  I
asked what was going on and why I was sick.  The response was that
I should be dead.

He stated that I had lightning running through my veins and would
not be going anywhere anytime soon.
This man said that I had too much to offer the world to be taken
away and until I fulfilled what he needed me to do, I would be
invulnerable to Mr. Grim Reaper.  He stated that this was the
second time he intervened when I was on the verge of death.

That day my wife brought my 6 month old son to see me (he just
turned 2).  I remember opening my eyes and locking stares with my
son.  I woke from my coma the next day.

This leads to my new moniker.  I am now The Immortal Marketer.
You’ll see more about what that means to you in the near future.

What does all of that mean?  Probably not much.  I honestly assume
that it was some crazy nurse that was placating me during one of my
many hallucinations.  I guess we will just have to wait and see!

Thanks,
Ross Goldberg

You’ll notice that George Levy is in nearly every picture you see here.  That is because my camera decided to go on the fritz when I got to Orlando.  He was generous enough to give me the images that I’m in.

Thanks George!

I took pictures with some great friends and some truly amazing people!  Thanks to all of you for making my time in Orlando as great as it was!

My first Internet Marketing Seminar - The Experience & The Aftermath

Monday, February 19th, 2007

I’m sitting here (waking up) and contemplating all that I’ve learned and done over this weekend. I’m in Orlando at JV Alert and have experienced (in my eyes) the most important business building event of my life.

I shook hands and talked to:

Willie Crawford
Frank Souza
Sterling Valentine
Ben Mack
Liz Tomie
Doug and Terry Champigny
Xavier Nelson
Mike Filsaime
Keith Wellman
Buck (from pipeline)
John Reese
Niche Professor
Harris Fellman
Robert Puddy
Jeff Wark & Lori Steffen
Jason James
and many others.

While talking with gurus and big dogs was amazing, I have to tell you something very simple. They were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I met some of these people after they were bombarded by 50 others hoping for a Joint Venture and they treated me like I was the first person they’d met. My opinion of at least half of the people above have totally changed (for the better).

On the internet, we see the success of the “big dogs” and assume that they are rude or untouchable. That simply isn’t the case.

I’ve tumbled into new projects with half of the people above and many more with people that you’ve never even heard of. This is the heart of a seminar. The networking opportunity I was given here was simply priceless. I’ve just started getting emails from many of the people I met and it looks like I’ll have trouble keeping up with it all!

I’ve got new angles and ideas for all of my existing projects and will be working on retooling every one. I learned something very simple at JV alert - most of us are leaving a huge amount of money on the table. If you have a inexpensive Ebook, you need to create a complimentary backend product that you can sell to people that purchase it. Every guru discussed it. You simply MUST have a backend product.

I sat down with Robert Puddy for awhile and discussed his perspective on seminars and the fact that everyone should be going to them. I had been on the fence until this event and must tell you something very simple - HE WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

I won’t be running the circuit any time soon, I have too many kids! I will be in Dallas in March and Philly in June. If you truly want to take your business to the next level, you should be too!

I’d love to hear comments and opinions on this.

Affiliate Project X Part Two - The Day Job Killer…

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Do you remember the launch of Affiliate Project X?  It was
absolutely huge.  It was also the last Ebook that I actually spent
my own money on.  I get free versions of many products from people
looking for joint ventures and normally don’t have to pay for
anything.  This was one I was willing to shell out the money for.

See the Day Job Killer video here

The creator of Project X has done it again.  This one is called the
Day Job Killer.  It expands on everything Affiliate Project X was
and adds a ton of new content, methods, and brings Commission
Junction into the picture.  This, once again, is income changing
information.

The emails are about to start pouring in and this is your chance to
see it before everyone else.

The Day Job Killer

Enjoy and Thank You for reading!

I am absolutely livid - Clickbank stinks…

Friday, February 2nd, 2007
I am not an affiliate for many products.  I send you recommendation here and there when a product knocks me over with its quality, but do my best to keep it at a minimum.  I used to use Clickbank to host my products and most of my friends still do.  Here is a post a friend of mine posted at the Warrior Forum:
I will make this short and to the point.

There is a definite problem with Clickbank hoplinks with IE 7.

I had several people, including myself test this.

In the tests conducted approximately 57% of the time, when clicking through to the pay screen for a Clickbank product, at the bottom it says AFF=NONE.

If there is ANYBODY here who has any clout with Clickbank, PLEASE contact them and make them aware of this problem.

Affiliates are getting murdered, myself including. My sales have plummeted through the floor.

What makes this even worse is that it is apparantly an intermediate problem, which makes it all the more worse. As a former QA tester I can tell you that intermittant problems are close to impossible to find.

This is not theory, this is not rumor, this is not alarmest talk. This has been tested and narrowed down to IE 7.

In just checking my user logs, I noticed that 67% of the people going to my affiliate site are using IE 7. This is an alarming stat which means you have a 38.19% chance of losing a sale (57% failure rate x 67% users with IE 7) each time a customer goes to your affiliate link.

Somebody here has to be powerful enough with Clickbank to get these people to fix their system before we all take a terrible beating.

I am personally calling them, but I am pretty much just a small fish in a very big pond and I doubt I’ll make much headway.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

After all, this affects ALL of us.

Here is a link to the post:  http://www.warriorforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=131913
I recently promoted a product by Jo Han Mok and I need your help.  I need to know which of you purchased that product through the link I sent you.  With your help, I can fix this problem.
How many of you might have been affected by this?
I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
Ross
